What will the project involve?
This project will be delivered through a series of workshops, 3 held virtually and on in-person. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and network with other project participants in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere facilitated by Project Sonrisa. Over the course of the project, participants will have the opportunity to grow and develop skills surrounding film such as delivering a message in front of camera, script writing, confidence and what makes a good campaign. Participants will also develop their knowledge of mental wellbeing and interpersonal skills such as compassion, confidence, communication and active listening.
A breif breakdown of the project timeline is as follows;
Stage 1: Recruitment phase [October to November 2024] - during this period of time Project Sonrisa will be advertising the opportunity and getting in touch with project participants.
Stage 2: Virtual Workshops [November, December and January] - during a virtual workshop in each of these months participants will be involved in sessions where they will explore more about mental wellbeing, short film creation and preparation for filming and the in-person day. By the end of this phase participants will be confident in how to deliver speech to camera, have written their own 'note to a stranger' and developed a stronger understanding of mental wellbeing.
Stage 3: In-Person Day [Late January 2025] - during the in-person day participants will spend the day filming their message which they will have developed over the course of stage 2. There will also be opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and celebrate with other participants. Food and drink will be provided during the in-person day.
